Open House and Dedication
Members, Friends, Community!
We came. We bought. We remodeled and worked (hard). We moved. We settled in. And now it’s time to connect to our community, reflect, appreciate and celebrate!
Saturday May 20th: The Open House from noon to 4:30 on Saturday, May 20th is a good time to bring friends, neighbors and anyone interested finding out more about the fellowship. Swing by for music and snacks! We’ll have information tables about the fellowship and our many outreach groups. There will be some fun activities for kids in the R.E. room.
Join us for Reflection, Appreciation and Celebration at 6:00 PM on the 20th. Four religious leaders will present a moving Reflection service: Rev. Nan White of the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ashland, Rev. Steve Van Meter of Center for Spiritual Living, Brother Rick Terwilliger of Merging Rivers Zen Center and Rev. Rich Fuss of the Newman United Methodist Church. In the Appreciation section we’ll honor all those who contributed time and donations to our building search, acquisition, and move in. A wonderful Celebration reception with refreshments will follow.
Sunday May 21st: Come back at 10:30 on Sunday morning for a service called The Upward Trail: Arriving Here with Revs. Byron Carrier, Margaret Keip and Fred Keip. They will trace the journey that brought Unitarian Universalists here in Grants Pass to the landmark achievement of a full-time permanent home of our own. Refreshments will follow.
Sunday June 4th, 10:30 AM: Heart of Our Faith with special guest speaker, Rev. Dr. James Kubal-Komoto, Regional Lead of the Pacific Western Region of the Unitarian Universalist Association. Unitarian Universalists often conflate two questions: “What distinguishes us from other religious traditions?” and “What is at the heart of our faith?” In his message our special pulpit guest will answer both questions.
